The short version.
I'm Emma Walkin, founder of Edithouse Wedding Films, a Dublin wedding videography studio. I've spent years behind a camera at weddings across Ireland, capturing the kind of cinematic films couples keep forever: the vows, the speeches, the first dance, all in clean light and sound.
Off Script Tapes is my second thing. Same obsession with the day, but a completely different artefact.
Why I started this.
Two things kept happening. Couples who'd booked a beautiful wedding film would still wish they had some of the bits I was never going to catch i.e. the getting-ready gidiness, the 2am singing, family having the craic at the drinks reception.
And couples who couldn't stretch to a videographer or who weren't booking a videographer at all would end up with nothing. No film. No record of the day beyond a few snatched phone videos.
Off Script answers both. We post you a camcorder, you hand it to your closest - those you know will have the best fun with it. They film the day from the inside, from an angle no professional can stand in. We cut it into a 3–5 minute video and tidy the rest into a longer Home Movie. It's not a replacement for a professional videographer. But it's your day, the way your people saw it.
