Who we are
Off Script Tapes is a service provided by Doghouse Media Ltd, registered in Dublin, Ireland. Edithouse is also a trading name of Off Script Tapes. When these terms say "we", "us", or "Off Script", that's who we mean. When they say "you", that's the person who books the kit.

The service
We post you a Canon Legria HD camcorder in a box with a charger, two charged batteries, two SD cards, an instruction card, and a paid return label. Your people film your event. You send the kit back inside 48 hours of your return date. We deliver two things: 'The Edit', a 3–5 minute short film of the day set to music, and the 'Home Movie', all your clips, tidied and rolled into one video. Both arrive as a private online gallery.
We don't film your wedding ourselves. We don't replace a videographer. We tidy and edit footage that you and your guests record.

Booking and payment
A €350 deposit secures your date and kit. Bookings are confirmed once the deposit clears.
The deposit forms part of your total fee. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your event date and is charged automatically to the card used at booking. We'll email a reminder 7 days before the charge so you can update the card if needed.
If you book within 30 days of your event date, the full fee is due at the time of booking.
If payment of the balance fails and isn't resolved within 7 days, we treat the booking as cancelled and the deposit is forfeit.
Prices include shipping within the Republic of Ireland.
By booking, you authorise us to charge the card used at booking for: (a) the balance of your fee 30 days before the event, and (b) any loss, damage, or late return charges after the event, up to a maximum of €600. A full damage and loss schedule is set out in the Kit Care section below.

Cancellations
You can cancel within 14 days of booking and receive a full refund of your deposit.
After 14 days, the €350 deposit is non-refundable.
Within 30 days of your event date, the full fee is non-refundable.
If we cancel for any reason on our side, you receive a full refund of both deposit and fee.

Rescheduling and things outside our control
You can reschedule your event date if we have availability. Free if requested at least 30 days before your event; €75 admin fee inside 30 days.
If your event is postponed or cancelled due to events outside your control - serious illness, bereavement, venue closure, government restrictions, or similar - contact us as soon as possible. We'll reschedule the kit to your new event date, subject to availability, with no admin fee.
If the kit can't be delivered or returned on time due to events outside our control - postal strikes, severe weather, transport disruption, fire, flood, or similar - we won't be liable for the delay. We'll do what we reasonably can: ship a replacement kit if there's time, extend the return window, or refund the fee if the kit can't reach you before your event.
Refunds are not offered for postponements. Rescheduling only.
This clause doesn't limit your statutory rights as a consumer in Ireland or the UK.

The kit
We post the kit so it arrives 2/3 days before your event date. You're responsible for the kit from the moment it's delivered until An Post scans it back into our care.
The kit is on loan. Treat it like borrowed: don't immerse it in water, don't lend it outside the wedding party, don't open the camcorder body.
Reasonable wear is on us. Damage, loss, or theft is on you.
If something is damaged but repairable, we charge the actual repair cost. If it's not repairable, or has been lost or stolen, we charge replacement:
Canon Legria HD camcorder: €450. Battery: €40 each. SD card: €25 each.
Damage, loss, and late return charges are billed to the card on file, up to the €600 authorisation limit. If charges exceed that limit, we invoice you for the difference.
In the event of theft, please file a Garda (or PSNI) report within 48 hours and forward it to emma@offscripttapes.ie.
You must drop the kit at any An Post office within 48 hours of your event day ending. Keep the An Post drop-off receipt until we confirm the kit has arrived back - it's your proof of postage.
Late returns: €25 per day after the 48-hour window. If the kit isn't returned within 10 days of your event date, we treat it as lost and invoice the full replacement cost.

Footage and your rights
You own the footage your people record, The Edit, and The Home Movie.
We retain a non-exclusive licence to use short clips from The Edit for marketing - promotional reels, social media, our own website. You're free to ask us to remove specific clips at any time by emailing emma@offscripttapes.ie and we'll take them down within 14 days.
If you want a full marketing opt-out, tell us at booking and we'll mark your file accordingly.

Quality of footage and limitation of liability
We edit the footage your people record. We can't edit what wasn't filmed.
We can't guarantee that every moment of your wedding will be captured. The footage depends on the people you hand the camcorder to. Wobble, framing, focus, background noise, missed moments, accidental record-stops - that's the nature of letting your guests film. We tidy and edit what arrives; we can't fix what wasn't recorded or wasn't recorded well.
If the kit fails due to a fault on our side (camcorder doesn't record, batteries dead on arrival, SD cards corrupted before shipping), our maximum liability is a full refund of the fee paid.
If the kit works but the footage captured is limited, unusable, or absent (record button not pressed, cards formatted, lens cap left on, footage too dark or audio too loud to use), we deliver The Home Movie with whatever footage is recoverable. The Edit may not be possible in this case, and no refund applies.
You can reduce this risk by handing the kit to people you trust to film, reading the printed instruction card before the event, and checking the red REC indicator is on when filming.
We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (cost of an alternative videographer, emotional distress, lost opportunity, etc.) beyond what consumer protection law requires.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer in Ireland or the UK.

Delivery
We deliver your private online gallery within 12 days of receiving the kit back.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on the day you booked. Material changes are emailed to existing customers.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
